The (G)local Learning roundtable will explore the integration of global and local perspectives to drive sustainable development through educational programs. It will emphasize social and technical skill development, interdisciplinary design and technology integration, and community-driven project development. The roundtable will promote collaborative learning experiences, combining online education with practical applications, and encouraging the co-creation of impactful projects at both local and global levels. Explore the Fab City network's mission of shifting from "Products In Trash Out" (PITO) to "Data In Data Out" (DIDO) and its connection to circularity. This workshop will delve into metrics and indexes used to track and benchmark circular processes in cities. Through discussions and idea-sharing, participants will examine evidence-based indicators relevant to Fab Cities, aiming to improve monitoring, assess progress towards circularity, and compare the effectiveness of interventions.

This session builds on discussions from Campus Fab City Montréal 2023, focusing on deeper collaboration among Fab Cities of the Americas. Together, we'll co-create a shared space for ongoing collaboration and future initiatives.

Each dish celebrates the culinary legacy of Yucatán, providing a true taste of the area's history and traditions.
This workshop serves as an observatory for trends and ideas in locally productive and globally connected cities. Participants will contribute to a living storybook that showcases inspiring projects and initiatives, both successes and failures. The installation will be central and interactive, displayed during the 2 days at the Hacienda, inviting contributions throughout the whole two days left of the Summit. Two brief presentations will highlight exemplary initiatives, fostering conversation and inspiration.

This session will equip policy agents, urban planners, designers, and citizens with methodologies for hyperlocal interventions, interventions that engage at the neighbourhood level. It references the CENTRINNO EU Project through the presentation of the book "Regenerative Neighborhoods in the Making." The book highlights a conceptual framework and practices in neighborhood regeneration, focusing on transforming old industrial sites into productive local hubs. Following the presentation, a Q&A session will expand the discussion to global approaches for fostering hyperlocal interventions.

This Talk explores the role of Fab Cities and empowered communities in redefining urban strategies amidst the critical challenges posed by climate change. Centered on the current climate crisis and related global events, the discussion will focus on biodiversity conservation, the promotion of the bioeconomy and creative economy, and the necessity of democratizing access to technology and networks that amplify scientific and traditional knowledge. Featuring representatives from various Fab Cities and regions, the talk will conclude with brief presentations of selected projects from around the world. These projects will demonstrate the potential of Fab Labs and Fab Cities to address climate action, community empowerment, and technological innovation.

This Workshop is focused on addressing the increasing frequency of extreme weather events worldwide. This session aims to align Fab City concepts with the global climate agenda by forming a dedicated working group to prepare for the COP30 United Nations Climate Conference in the Amazon, Brazil. We will initiate discussions within the global Fab City network, focusing on generating ideas for international cooperation proposals. Our goal is to develop a comprehensive work agenda leading up to COP 30, showcasing Fab City innovations and solutions to world leaders.
